By now, it has already been a couple of weeks since a lot of countries have issued a stay-at-home order. If your life has been affected to the point of having to stay at home 24/7, we are sure you are having some trouble by now. And one of the biggest hurdles you will have to overcome is being your own cheerleader and trying to motivate yourself to work out. We get it – during times where the world seems to be falling apart, the last thing you should think about is fitness, right? Quite the contrary – regular physical activity will get your serotonin levels up, as well as help you build a better immune system. For that reason, you should make it your task to stay motivated to workout during quarantine even on those days when you feel like you can barely get out of bed.
First things first – set your alarm
Regularly working out during self-quarantine won’t be the only thing you will struggle with. Junk food, excessive amounts of alcohol, and sleeping in on a daily basis are all the things people can easily succumb to. And it’s easy to see how all of that could happen. Our entire lives are currently put on hold, shaking up the daily routines of millions of people. One of the first changes you will notice will be in your sleeping pattern.

Don’t get us wrong – it’s perfectly okay to sleep in a bit and not wake up at 6 am like you had to when you were getting ready for work. Then again, you shouldn’t sleep until 11 am like back in the day when you were a teen. The longer you sleep in, the harder it will be for you to fall asleep when night comes. You will enter a vicious cycle and you can rest assured that you will lose all of your motivation while struggling to get out of it.
By setting the alarm at a reasonable time, you would get the energy and will to seize the day ahead. If you have already fallen off the wagon and have disrupted your sleeping pattern, get ready for a couple of dreadful days while you get back to your regime. But everything after that should be smooth sailing.
Use social media to help you stay motivated to workout during the quarantine
These days, social media is a mandatory part of our lives. We spend hours upon hours just scrolling through Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, and Twitter. So why not use the fact that all of your friends are only a couple of clicks away? Perhaps you have a friend who is also a yoga instructor Dubai based and who can help you with some workouts? Maybe you have a group of friends whom you used to go to classes with? Thanks to Skype, you can all connect and have a fun online workout session. Who is to say you won’t burn the same amount of calories as you would in the gym?
Furthermore, you can use different platforms to find online classes and trainers. The entire world has shifted and even the best personal trainers in Dubai have recognized the need of people for online workouts. In case you don’t have the funds to pay for online classes, you can always try your luck with a plethora of sculpting exercises you will be able to find online. Those who really want to workout will find solutions, not excuses.

Make a to-do list that will include a workout
As previously mentioned, one of the things you will have the most trouble with during quarantine will be maintaining a regular daily routine. From separating your home life from work life to eating and sleeping regularly, everything will be a challenge. So it’s easy to see how you might have a problem staying on track with your exercises. To solve all of these problems, you need to have a realistic overview of all the tasks you need to accomplish for the day. In other words, you need a to-do list.
If possible, try to tick off the workout box before noon. There are many proven benefits of morning workouts, such as the increased levels of energy throughout the day. But most importantly, you will avoid putting it off for later in the day when you will start to feel tired. And that’s a trap many have fallen into before. You’ll push your workout for tomorrow with an excuse of being tired, and the same scenario might follow the very next day.
Setbacks are a normal part of the process
You need to understand one thing – there will be days when you will fail. Quarantine is difficult for people of all ages and nationalities. And there isn’t a handbook on how to deal with it and the challenges it is attached to. So realistically, you can expect to go through days when your biggest accomplishment will be getting out of bed. That’s okay – it’s normal. What’s important is for you to get up tomorrow, shake it off, and continue to give your best effort towards keeping your workout motivation during the quarantine.

Why is it important to stay motivated to workout during quarantine?
In the end, all of this might seem like too much work. But regular exercise during quarantine is worth the trouble. Exercising will help you keep your health, as well as your sanity. It will give you the energy you need and help you sleep better. It will help you build a better immune system. Not to mention that regular workouts will help you maintain the body you have been building in the gym for months. So make an effort to stay motivated to workout during quarantine. And you will have a much easier job going through these difficult times.
