Getting regular physical activity is crucial for staying healthy and living a long and happy life. However, many people don’t realize that you actually have to make exercise a daily habit if you want to give yourself the best chances to remain healthy. Don’t panic just yet – you don’t have to spend your days in the gym either. We here at DubaiPT know that it doesn’t take much to fulfill the daily requirements for movement and physical activity. Likewise, we know that you can do that in more ways than one.

From jogging to walking, every form of physical activity will help you stay in shape.

The requirements that you need to reach as a healthy adult

Nowadays, all of us have apps that track our sleep, activity levels, and daily steps. And you most likely know about the infamous 10,000 steps mark that you find hard to reach. You are not the only one, as many people simply don’t have enough time and space for walking 10,000 steps a day. The good news is that you might not have to reach that mark in order to stay healthy. Based on the average fitness requirements of a healthy adult, the Department of Health and Human Services recommends the following exercise guidelines:

  • During the course of a week, get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity. Feel free to mix the two according to your mood and energy levels. Likewise, you can definitely aim for more than what these guidelines recommend – these are just the estimates related to the minimum amount of time you should spend working out.
  • When it comes to strength training, exercise all major muscle groups twice a week. Make no mistake – you should spread out your arm workouts for women over the course of a week and not do them for two consecutive days.

So will not walking 10,000 steps a day kill you? Probably not if you follow the aforementioned guidelines. Of course, you shouldn’t complete a workout and then spend the rest of your day sitting on your couch. That would be completely counterproductive, as your body needs regular movement throughout the day.

Why should you make exercise a daily habit?

If you are searching for reasons why you should make exercise a part of your daily routine, we would like to help you out. Of course, leading a healthy lifestyle is not as easy as it seems. It’s rewarding, but it’s definitely not easy or void of any challenges. However, we know that there are three benefits that will certainly motivate you to make exercise your daily habit – here’s what they are.

A long, happy, and healthy life requires regular movement.

Regular exercise will make you happier

Have you been struggling with your mood lately? If you haven’t been feeling like your usual self, perhaps you could find the culprit in your physical activity – or lack thereof. Of course, there are many things that could affect your mood and happiness. And while daily exercise can’t make the bad things go away, it can definitely help you go through your day.

It goes without saying that you can work out by yourself or simply take a brisk walk every morning. However, if you want to experience the greatest benefits of working out, you could look into personal trainers in Dubai. Their job won’t only be to help you find the best workout for you – they will also provide you with unconditional support. Both friendship and exercise can have therapeutic effects on people, helping you feel much happier than you were before.

Regular exercise puts your weight under control

You might have been fit and healthy ever since you remember. But as people age, we tend to gain a bit of weight, and that’s only normal. It goes without saying that a bit of extra weight can look good on many people. However, if at any moment you feel unhappy with your physical appearance, you could decide to turn to regular exercise. It’s precisely regular exercise that will help you lose undesired pounds.

Whether you decide to work with a yoga instructor in Dubai or you decide to take up Zumba classes, there are many activities that can help you keep your goal weight. Every activity will help you burn calories which, over time, lead to weight loss. Of course, the topic of weight loss is much more complex than just exercising as often as possible. You’ll need to pay a lot of attention to your diet and good sleep, but exercising will certainly help the cause.

There’s no secret to staying fit and healthy – it requires a lot of work.

Regular exercise helps you sleep better

If you’ve been having trouble sleeping, this is most likely not the first time it has happened. A lot of people experience insomnia on a regular basis. While the inability to fall asleep can happen due to many reasons, the lack of physical activity throughout the day is one of them. It only makes sense, doesn’t it? When you are moving your body, you are also spending energy. The more energy you have, the more you will feel restless and sleepless. So by making exercise a part of your everyday routine, you’ll be able to sleep more, and we all know that good sleep is crucial for health and happiness.

Are you still wondering whether to make exercise a daily habit? With all the benefits that you will experience by moving your body throughout the day, you really shouldn’t be giving this a thought any longer. Instead, figure out which form of physical activity works best for you and find enough time for it in your daily schedule. You can even get your special someone to join you, making the most out of your time.
